I have seen a lot of tesla vandalism online the last few days and I’m kind of on the fence about it.

I’ve seen several examples locally here in BC, Canada.

I think totally warranted at newly purchased teslas going forward. Also it serves as a deterrent for potential future buyers.

But vandalizing a car that is a few years old I think is lame. Those driversare already being punished enough by driving something around that’s worth less than scrap.

I think people would be a surprised at how many companies are owned or run by despicable people. If you didn’t buy anything from any of them, your shopping habits would be incredibly constrained. The only difference between musk and the others is that he is louder.

Plus that he is the richest man alive by far. Plus that he is promoting the far-right in Europe. Plus that he did a Nazi salute.

It’s a really good point that I hardly ever see brought up. I was alluding to it with my other replies re: “what do you drive?”

Alarming amount of vehicles on the road today literally exist due to the ww2 nazi regime and nobody cares because those rich people are smart and they don’t talk about it.

It’s really about (a) sending a message that we don’t support Musk or other fascists and (b) discouraging other people from buying them.

It’s true that some people might have Teslas without having monetarily support Tesla somehow, but not very many, and if they got their Tesla for free then they aren’t really losing anything.

To that end, vandalizing Cybertrucks would send the clearest message, they’re the most obviously Musk thing. If enough Cybertrucks are vandalized, the media will report on it, and people will get the point. It would hurt Tesla’s sales, Tesla’s stock, and Musk’s image.

This is just theoretical mind you. I’m not advising you to vandalize anything, since that would be illegal.

Dorkmobile? I thought it was called the wankpanzer, but maybe that’s just in my country. Is it even legal in Europe? That thing doesn’t look like it passed any crash safety tests AT ALL.

It would be highly immoral to do any actual vandalism because that would give them sympathy and therefore would further the goals of Elon and others who want their bootlickers to be seen as some sort of rebels against wokeness.

But mocking them by writing dust or adding your own bumper stickers without doing any serious permanent damage is at least defensible.

A person might have bought a Tesla before Elon went full Nazi. Cybertrucks are fair game however.

As a regretful Tesla owner since 2017 that isn’t in a financial position to change for awhile…I do think cyber trucks are fair game.

I understand if something happens to mine, and it would suck and likely cost me money, but as long as I can still get groceries or to work - I guess it is what it is.

I’d argue how much smearing the dust on a car counts as vandalism. Sure it’s something my mom would be mad at me for doing but she’s mad at me in general.

Writing something in dust is fine and if you think otherwise you’re a nerd. Who gives a shit, just wipe it off.

Going beyond that, I wouldn’t. What, am I gonna target every car with a Trump sticker too? If you’re gonna fuck with cars you should target gas guzzlers, not EVs. I’ll absolutely judge someone for owning a cybertruck, but I’d rather let it break down on its own so they blame Musk instead of me.

target every car with a Trump sticker

Yes. Make them afraid to voice their political opinion.

“What are we gonna do? Spray paint every car with a Confederate flag?”

Yes. 00-buck if you got it.
