I give my kiwis a good rinse and sorta “scrub” their skin (is it called a peel on kiwis?)with my palms before I bite into them skin and all like am apple. I have had more than one person audibly gasp and ask me what the hell I’m doing when they see me eating kiwis that way.

The spoon and digging as a kid was fun, but as an adult the time lost to cutting and spooning kiwi flesh from its skin just isn’t worth it. And if a kiwi is properly ripe anyway the bitter skin actually contrasts the sweet fleshy insides quite nicely.

Eh. I’ve moved 2/3 TB around for work a few times. Yeah it’s slow but transfer speeds have only been getting better. I figure in 100 years transferring 1tb will take about as long as it takes us to transfer 1gb these days. If not even better.

Easy. Copy the data into several different mediums and store them as safely as I can. Bury half of them in time capsules set to be dug up in 100 years and then start a cult based around duplicating and passing the data down through the generations. Hopefully one of those two methods insures that at least one whole copy of the 100tb of data survives the 100 years.

I didn’t believe TDS was a real thing until I saw it happen to my own family. Normal, logical people turn into obsessed psychos whenever Trump is even mentioned in passing.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but I feel like I would be more concerned if someone told me they never had any intrusive thoughts.

Like yeah it’s weird that I always think about what it might be like to drive into oncoming traffic, but I would never actually do it.

I used to live at the end of a long windy dirt road in the middle of nowhere on 10 acres of mostly uninhabitable forest in the Sierra Nevada mountains. There was an old woman who lived alone past our house at the end of her own little dirt/gravel side road.

We got along with her fine mostly because she enjoyed having our dogs over (she would often spoil them with her leftovers) and since we lived in the middle of nowhere we rarely saw each other aside from passing on the road or seeing her drive past our property on her dirt road.

Anyway that old woman who lived alone said that she often cooked with the sliding door open when it’s hot so she can get better air flow through her kitchen. Well apparently a bear let itself into her house while she was cooking and according to her she turned around and there was a bear 3 feet away from her sniffing the air. She says she grabbed the cast iron pan and proceeded to hit the bear on the head as it panicked and ran back outside and off into the woods.

When we moved she actually kept our bigger dog because he was raised on 10 acres of forest and we just couldn’t bring him to the city. We tried once and he was clearly stressed out and hated the tiny yard so we brought him back and she happily took in our big old dog. Apparently he lived a happy few years with her before heart worms finally got him at the ripe old age of 15 which for that breed was basically 100.

I got suspended for kicking my bully down a small flight of stairs. He punched me in the forehead while wearing his father’s knock-off Rolex which slid down his skinny wrist and the dial gave me a small cut which bled quite a bit.

So after he sucker punched me and ran I caught up to him at the top of a small staircase down the hall. While he slowed down to “walk” down the stairs I kicked him in his back sending him flying down to the ground and knocking the wind out of him.

We both got suspended, but I still think that’s total bullshit. If a kid is physically assaulting another kid the one that retaliates should basically have immunity.

Same kid started choking me out from behind during PE one day and since the teacher was looking the other way and I was starting to pass out I threw myself backwards to land on top of him. Immediately knocked the breath out of him again and I got suspended for attacking him again, but he some how managed to convince them that I was the one that attacked him in the first place. So only I got in trouble for that one.

Fuck you Chase. You were a POS in grade school and based on your 35 year prison sentence for theft and domestic abuse it looks like you’re still a piece of shit. Go fuck yourself buddy.

I only use the handicap stall if all the others are already occupied and I am literally about to shit myself. Otherwise I’ll just wait for a normal stall. I don’t wanna be the reason someone with a wheelchair couldn’t get a stall in time and shat themselves.

Lemmy is far more left than reddit which is impressive because I already felt reddit had a hefty left wing bias. I didn’t know how much more left you could get until I got here lol.

The userbase is a much less varied. Being more skewed towards the extremely progressive and tech savvy “nerd” types. Which makes sense.

The quality of conversations here seems better. More actual responses and less “meme dunking” karma type comments.

No I do not think they have overthrown the government as of yet. They ran on the promise they were going to do this. People voted for that knowing that’s what they were doing. They were lawfully given power and starting doing exactly what they said they were going to do.

Now I will not pretend that I understand the exact legality of the precise details. As I understand it they only have “read” access to financial records and they are pointing out what they deem to be waste and then the president is signing off on closing,shrinking, firing, restructuring or whatever.

I know the Democrats are claiming everything they have done is illegal, but I hesitate to take the Democrats at their word on that one because much of what has been uncovered does not look good for the Democrats. Especially the ones that have been around far too long such as Elizabeth Warren and Nancy Pelosi. Seeing Elizabeth Warren screaming about how illegal it all is in the same speech where she defends big pharma and then makes blatantly false claims about their profit margins just comes across as them trying to throw everything at the wall in the hopes that any of it sticks while also attempting to defend their own self interests.
