Who’s to support Canada? Sane, freedom-loving Americans.
Now that’s heartening to read.
These chickens will come home to roost, you know.
There’s this old song by a British band called The Clash. Something something about Brixton. And the Brits don’t even have a second amendment.
Europeans, take a hint from the Canadians: being patriotic by making a big deal about not bending the knee to Trump undermines the far right and exposes them to public scorn. Make fascists be the traitors again.
To Americans on the ground invading Canada or even flying over and bombing, it would feel extremely traumatic. Our cities, suburbs, etc look basically the same. Outside Quebec, we speak the same language. To them it would feel like invading their own country, it would feel like a civil war. I cannot imagine morale holding up for any length of time.
