it definitely feels more community-oriented with the lack of comment bots/ads. the ability for a group to just pick up and move should moderation get stupid has been proven and its just amazing seeing users working together towards a common goal as well as having the ability to achieve that goal without having to make new accounts anywhere. beautiful!

i have had the exact opposite experience, and i post a lot. in my 15+ years on reddit, it got worse and worse to where you either got a negative reply or none at all. on the fediverse i get a lot more decent replies than shitty ones. i havent blocked more than a dozen users in 18 months.

theres this really stupid idea in business that if your business isnt growing, its failing. the idea that you could create a niche product, pay your employees and have a small, sustained market is a foreign concept to the ‘always be growing’ crowd.
this insane notion is the reason many business are put out to pasture by the conglomerates. not because they arent sustainable, but because they dont continue to grow profit. people just cant be happy doing their thing.
bankruptcy. #1 rule in business is provide something people need, and cameras everyone has to an nth degree.
