That was true for Iran in the 70s, too.

Isn’t the Defamation League just the friars club?
My first thought: wow, the PPE for the people making road signs must be so involved!
My second thought: unfortunately, probably not at all.
That’s fair, and also why I hedged about participants in society, because maybe ChatGPT could? But I don’t think ChatGPT can really write fiction, for the same reason my cat sitting on a keyboard can’t write fiction- the end product has nothing to do with intention or communication
Show me a piece of fiction which has nothing to say about societal issues and I’ll show you an author or reader who doesn’t understand literature.
I don’t think it’s even possible for a participant in society to write something that has nothing to do with society. We are all affected by our environments. Fish might not notice the ocean, but it doesn’t mean that they could write something that doesn’t involve the ocean, to really stretch a metaphor.
If there were a crime which deserved the death penalty (there isn’t), intentionally poisoning more than 200 children would be it. It’s technically possible that they’re really negligent and stupid, but hiding the paint was definitely intentional and probably caused additional harm by delaying treatment.
One tricky bit is, if you’re declared legally dead, you immediately become an illegal resident if you’re still alive. And DOGE has already declared a number of people dead by misinterpreting a few databases.
I can almost imagine this being written by Douglas adams, but the consequences a little too depressing. You know, in contrast to the complete destruction of the earth
He estimated in 2014 that Liverpool’s boycott of The Sun had cost its owners £15 million per month since the disaster, in 1989 prices.
Gen Z was around 12-27 years old during the election. I think part of it could honestly be due to brain development.
Don’t forget his brother, Rabbi Chang.
Nah, I get background music because I don’t need “sound” for my thoughts. Generally it’s nice, sometimes it’s baby shark
I process thoughts visually, as typed text. It’s like a fucking ticker tape when I get going having random thoughts and I definitely experience shower thoughts.
“Señor Chang cheatsheet” should bring it up if you need it again
If the goddamn early shift would learn to sweep the floor or clean up after breakfast, maybe I’d have time to close :)
That’s a great song for my students! I teach German, not French, but a LOT of my students have trouble distinguishing between the following (emboldened) vowels: tomber la chemise. This makes the difference between them really clear and will probably help sensitize them to the vowels :)
Also it’s fun to listen to.
It’s a British term for a lawyer who can plead cases in court. Baristas make coffee
Why the fuck are they doubling down after 14 doctors found foul play unlikely?
Isn’t everyone a better off Ted fan? Some people just don’t know it yet.
Actually, I just realized that I have only seen Portia de Rossi in two things and they were both fucking killer. Maybe I should watch ally mcbeal…
I once wondered aloud how they get tanning beds to emit vitamin D. I then immediately corrected myself by saying that it was photosynthesis, which is technically correct, but doesn’t sound right in the context of animals. I did not feel smart.
