Old people is where that gets messy
… as long as you assume that retirement has to be paid for by the worker’s taxes.
Rich taxes would solve the problem well enough, i think.

Why are these articles even published? They are so incredibly non-technical that it’s just impossible to get the point as a reader.
Why even link these articles here? Throw that pop-science in the trash bin, where it belongs.
It would be good to back that up with actual arguments.
Experts warn this decline could accelerate China’s demographic and economic challenges.
I’ll say it again. The labor market is a market.
Lower supply ==> higher price.
In the context of the labor market: Fewer workers ==> higher wages. That is good for the workers.
dd if=user-complaints of=/dev/zero
is exactly what apple will do with these complaints
you could just as well burn your money or drive your car into a tree, as a form of protest. it’s a waste, either of time, money, or energy, but nothing is achieved that way.
I never understood StreetComplete
as i understand it, there’s tons and thousands of datasets available about public infrastructure, but for some bizarre reason, StreetComplete asks us to fill in that information by hand? How stupid is that? only to make a ton of errors while manually copying in that information.
'cause racism, they think they’re better somehow
Truth is, these big companies don’t care about you. Or your opinion. You can threaten them about “switching to Linux”, but these companies will think twice and say:
how, do you think, will apple react?
there’s a lot of local/cultural factors
best is to just listen to your inner voice, i guess.
Well … just like the US economy is kept alive by the constant threat of unemployedness and therefore homelessness, the US society is kept moving by the constant “winning group”/“losing group” divide. If you would heal incels, there would be no “losing group” to look down upon anymore, and the US would have to create a new one, thus perpetuating the problem.
that feeling is called dissociation btw
theft and technology, i would say.
I would be a bit more careful about only listening to previous empirical data. Not everything can be extrapolated from the past.
There is the story of the cock:
A rooster wakes up every morning and crows, for a 1000 days in a row. The rooster observes this and, as a consequence, believes himself to be invincible. “Until now, i have always waken up the next day in the morning.”
But the rooster, is not invincible, neither is he immortal. In fact, quite the opposite.
Also, this XKCD:
I’m torn about this. On the one side, i support (a low level of) import tariffs in general, but on the other hand, the only reasonable exception i see to this is in minerals, because they are non-uniformously geographically distributed, and sometimes can only be sourced from abroad.
Then again, steel and aluminum are made from minerals which are so incredibly wide-spread, that it probably makes no difference to implement tariffs on them, because they can be sourced from every country, including your own.
Export guns, import people.
What distro are you using, and how difficult was it for you to get started with it?
I’m currently making a list of distros and looking at each’s pros and cons, including:
There was something like it between NATO and the USSR but Russia officially is not the successor to USSR so they have no claim to that guarantee.
Like, if you seriously believe that, you should check your reasoning skills.
This isn’t the ship of theseus. Not everything was exchanged. USSR changed one small thing which is its name and became Russia, that does not invalidate all prior agreements.
Demand for human labor is declining, and as a result, wages are declining.
