I lurked pretty much everywhere except the subreddit of an app that I know a lot about to help users with support questions.
On Reddit, you don’t really have a conversation most of the time. It’s always a competition about who can out-funny the other comments with snarky one-liners and other off-topic comments that are not necessarily unfunny, but don’t add much to the thread OP started.
Next to that, you always had to be very precise with your words and take everything you can into account, or otherwise someone takes a small thing from your comment and uses that to declare you a troll, bot, or just tries to dunk on you because what you said doesn’t cover all the scenarios you could think of or be arsed to write down.
I’ve thought about this before, and I’ve always chalked it up to a lack of compatibility with other online users and perhaps just Reddit culture. The way I view it internally is this:
A lot of people see comments as the end of a conversation. To me, it’s the start of a conversation.
On Lemmy it still happens, don’t get me wrong. But there’s a higher chance of actually having a conversation, and respectfully pointing out nuance and trying to get actual humans to talk about the subject at hand.

I ain’t here to defend shitty game dev practices, but maybe there’s no error message because the game can’t launch at all? Like, there’s nothing to report about because the game never got a chance to load properly.
Have you checked the event log? Maybe that will give you a clue.
Edit: another common culprit is antivirus nuking game files, but that shouldn’t happen to games you’ve already played, so I doubt that’s the case. Still worth a mention though, just in case.
Haven’t seen a game that uses ads like this, but very good that it’s strictly prohibited now. That shit should never have taken off on mobile, but alas. At least we can prevent it on PC.

Thank you. It’s not unique to Fox News and the like of course, so we need to stay on our toes. It only takes one mod with a slightly bigger ego than sense to get lured into this trap.
Perhaps it would be cool to share resources about what to do when it’s shown in the media or when talking to the media? I don’t think the latter will happen for a while, but at least it would help us build resources to combat the misconceptions and show people what antiwork actually means.
The community needs the moderator(s) to not go on interviews with media, like what happened with the reddit community.
In summary, the mod went on Fox News to explain the movement and they didn’t clear this with the rest of the mods, nor did anyone think they were a good representative of the community.
