In theory an illegal act would have Congress impeach him, and the Senate hold a trial to find him guilty or innocent, if found guilty he is removed. In theory if he refuses to step down the U.S. military would remove him under their oath of office as well. For which since he was removed by the Senate he would be guilty of unknown (likely treason)

The truth is that the Senate will not vote to find him guilty. But yeah, what also is interesting there is while treason is charged in a civilian court, an acting commander in chief is a member of the military, and thus could likely be held for treason charges as acting military as well. Both treason charges have a maximum sentence of death. Minimum sentence is likely dishonorable discharge minimum 5 years prison. (For a 78 year old man with court times, pretty much life in Prison). Being that he is a high profile case and it is military based, one would hope they would use the money his administration put towards Guantanamo to hold him their without bail until conviction.). That is but a dream of justice though.

Yeah refusing to follow the legislature or the judicial branch. It’s so obvious but much of the Pubs refuse to believe it’s not how our government works normally. The President cannot override a law/statute with an executive order it has to go back to the legislature. Trump’s removal of the enforcement teams for their sanctions that were signed legislation was a direct act against the constitution. Every Congress member and senator swears an oath to defend and uphold it. How could we still call it a republic if the representatives decision was illegally overturned and they have not yet removed the executor of it?

The constitution is legislation. If he doesn’t enforce the sanctions which are also legislation, what makes you think he cares to follow any? The fact that they haven’t fast tracked him for removal and we don’t have 100% of congress screaming at him for removal means the Republic has fallen. The constitution means nothing.

The easy way for me to explain it is such. The executive branches job is to execute the bills passed by the legislature. If the executive branch does not execute the things our representatives agreed on in the legislature, then it is no longer a republic, it is a dictatorship. The sanctions on Russia passed the house and Senate and were signed by the president. For them to simply disband the enforcement groups and are not going to enforce those sanctions means your representatives no longer matter, it is not a republic.

The punishment for treason is death, the GOP supports the death penalty so let’s use it
