  • I’m all for hating the boomers. If you want to blame the disappearance of American manufacturing and the weakening of organized labor on Boomers, I’m all for that. They availability of higher education for the masses to the point where a college degree became a barrier to entry is something that came about thanks to the prosperity boom after WWII. Remember yuppies? Those fuckers were boomers enjoying the advantages their parents and socialist reforms laid at their feet.

So no. Boomers didn’t make college a barrier to entry, but they did milk their good fortune and left very little for those that came after them.

  • I didn’t write “with”, I wrote “to”. What they did TO MJ. Rather than give you the whole thesis, I’ll summarize like this. Peter betrayed Mary Jane and took away the life she had worked towards since the first film. She asked only one thing from him. To come and find her and be in her life again. She didn’t hesitate or stutter. She was VERY clear on this condition. So what does Peter do? He notices a little cut and right then and there does the most patronizing thing possible. He breaks his solemn promise to the woman he loves and takes away MJ’s ability to choose whether or not to be in his life. Why? To protect her? Is she a child? Was she ever a defenseless damsel in distress? No. She was always a smart and brave bad ass. Oh no, Peter had to make the decision that worked best for him because he did not want to risk her safety. Well, it wasn’t his choice to make. She begged him for one thing, and he betrayed her trust. That wasn’t nobel. It was selfish and cowardly and unfair.
