In a couple of years, there’ll be a small article on page B-41 of the Times, reporting that suicide has skyrocketed among trans youth.
My apologies for the pessimism, but any judge’s ruling against Trump is at best a temporary delay. All findings that this that or the other Trumpocalypse is unConstitutional will be appealed to the Supreme Court, which is a subsidiary of the Republican Party. The Supremes will say NO to a few lesser outrages to maintain credibility, but YES to all the most outrageous outrages.
The Constitution and the Law no longer matter.

It’s weird, because KUOW is usually pretty solid journalism.
The kid wants the surgery. His parents want him to have the surgery. His doctors want him to have the surgery. He’s been through the not-easy gauntlet of psych evals and counseling. His insurance has approved the surgery. The hospital schedules the surgery…
And then Donald Trump overrules the kid, the parents, the doctors, the psych evals and counseling, the insurance company, and the hospital.
Yup, that’s (one of) the (many) roots of the problem. The Supreme Court is a subsidiary of the Republican Party, and they’ve officially declared Trump above the law. Other subsidiaries own the Senate and House, so there’s nothing holding Trump back from doing everything Musk and his other handlers have always dreamed of.

Scrolled through a lot of different sources, snagging what interests me. I’m retired and poor and on the lookout for a good time that’s cheap. Did this for months before it occurred to me that someone else might appreciate the info. Glad you dig it. Glad this subLemmy exists and allows it.
Here’s what I know, CNN: an endless stream of idiotic things come out of Donald Trump’s mouth, and not every piece of nincompoopery he utters deserves an in-depth analysis.

Trump is acting like Trump. Talk of a ‘mandate’ is piffle, like almost anything he says.
Let’s put the meanest, dumbest, and richest people in charge and see what happens!

Count me among the folks who seriously liked Sawant. Abrasive, sure she was. But she made things happen, sometimes good things.

I appreciate this take, thanks. It’s conceivable that the US intelligence community does some good in the world, but holy fuckin’ crap it’s inarguable that they do a lot of damage. Putting an absolute fool in charge of intelligence will probably be a disaster, but US intelligence is already a disaster. I’m more concerned about what Trump is doing to (virtually every) other function of government.
