  • Being anti-Israel is not the same as being an anitsemite. You can disagree with Israel current genocide of the Palestinian people without being against Jewish people for being Jewish. It just so happens that most people in Israel are Jewish, but that is not the reason people hate Israel. The reasons people hate Israel are plenty: killing innocent civilians indiscriminately (women and children included), using civilians as human shields, bombing hospitals, preventing aid from reaching Palestinians which caused people to die, kicking people out of their houses and illegally annexing territory, etc.

In short, you can be anti-Israel, and love Jewish people. Heck, many Jewish people are anti-Israel because of this recent massacre.

  • Good luck, friend.

Last time I entered the country through JFK, I was sent to the secondary screening room. I get sent there almost always that I come to the US, where they waste 2hr or more of my life to tell me that everything is correct and I can continue my travel. Anyways, you are not allowed to use phones or other electronic devices there, so I was bored and listening to the conversations that the immigration officers where having.

A couple of officers were talking about having to work overtime because some officers got fired recently. One of them got fired for watching porn in their work computer. He basically brought a USB with porn, and plugged into his work computer. Turns out the porn had viruses on it, and he infected the computer. The viruses leaked a bunch of data of travelers. I was appalled to what I was hearing.

The other officer that got fired didn’t like American women getting married to foreigners. So he denied entry and sent back every foreigner that came in with visas to get married in the US.

It’s really crazy the shit that happens in the American immigration system.

  • Spaniard living in the US here to clarify how our language works. Spaniards are the best at speaking their own language by definition. We make the language, and we decide how it evolves. When you say many Spaniards suck at speaking their own language, I think you are getting confused with the many dialects that exist within the Spain. Some dialects, while being perfectly and dramatically correct, are very hard for non-native speakers to understand. Pronunciation of letters may change from dialect to dialect, but the grammar is basically the same.

The authority that sets the Spanish language grammar rules (Real Academia Española - RAE) is in Spain, and it’s rules only apply to the “standard” Spanish dialect spoken in Spain, which is also known as Castillian. However, there are multiple other dialects of Spanish within Spain (and multiple other languages that are not Spanish - Galego, Catalan, Euskera, etc). Other countries that speak other Spanish dialects choose if they want to follow or not the rules set by the RAE, and many Spanish dialects do not follow those rules. Some Spanish speaking countries have their own organizations to define their Spanish dialects. There are dialects of Spanish that are very different from the original Castillian Spanish. For example, listen to Argentinian Spanish, and compare it to Castillian Spanish. The difference is noticeable even for non-Spanish speakers. They also use a slightly different grammar.
