The White House blocked an Associated Press reporter from an event in the Oval Office on Tuesday because the news agency has not altered its style on the Gulf of Mexico, which U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered renamed to the Gulf of America, the news agency said.

I think it’s time for me to pitch a show that’s sure to be a hit in such stupid times, and I’m going to call it Ow, My Balls.

Trump and his White House is full of weak and pathetic crybabies. How anyone buys into his fake strongman image when he get so pouty and has temper tantrums over the stupidest shit is beyond my understanding.

To the republicans it’s only a first amendment violation if you can’t say there are social consequences to saying the n word.

Wilhoit’s law proven right yet again:

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Okay, I call myself a conservative but if your statement is true, then I am most definitely not

Unfortunately conservatism as an ideology has been co-opted by antisocial elements. We’re a long way from Edmund Burke. Would “classical liberal” fit you better?

I read the wiki description and I’m not sure.

I believe the government should work for the people. If I could remake everything, I would aim for a free market with an emphasis on consumer protection. I’d make it so that you can’t discriminate based on age, race, sex, or gender.

I would not emphasize my right to do things, I would emphasize “am I infringing on other people’s rights?

In my world, gasoline cars wouldn’t be going extinct. Rather, car companies would be making enthusiast cars. We would all live in human-centric areas, with service and or delivery vehicles allowed. There would be a public racetrack like the Nurburgring.

The public transportation would come frequently and on time. I would connect advantaged and disadvantaged neighborhoods for better opportunity. Also, there would be a route from every major city in a state to the state capitol and every state capitol to DC.

Universal health care would be a thing. If you want paid health care, go ahead. Doesn’t exempt you from participating in the public good.

Conservatives and liberals, in my world, wouldn’t argue about the goals - they would argue on how to achieve them. No more “climate change isn’t real”.

We would pay cops good money. We would hire studied people who can make good decisions. No more “I thought he had a gun so I shot”. You would get paid more for being able to make important decisions and you would also be held accountable.

I would get rid of Citizens United. Why does Musk have more free speech than me? Fines would be made a percentage of your net worth.

Like, this is mostly all getting us all on the same playing field.

Then you’d see me arguing that weed is banned because it’s a drug. BUT when they get sent to prison, it would be about rehabilitation and not punishment.

            What would you call me?

Definitely not a conservative, none of your beliefs even hint at it imo, except maybe the free market thing. Really, free markets and consumer protection don’t really mix tbh but I’m not an expert on the subject.

Unfortunately shit like this is a gray area. They are still free to report on shit. They are just not getting a first hand account. That is fairly important for a news wire.
