I wish we could see up/downvotes like in the past. I think reddit may be artificially boosting some posts into the front page. You can see in the screenshot it has very little upvotes (or older) compared to the other top 4 posts.

I have no evidence other than noticing right after the election, /r/conservative seems to be hitting the front page every day. But I remember before the election, it only hit the front page once in a blue moon or so. Is this just me? Am I the only one noticing this?

I mean, r/movies is trending higher with even less votes.

And the r/conservative post has 6000 comments like the top post, while the rest are only 4000.

Sounds to me like just another algorithm than a push towards conservatism.

Controversial post easily make front page for a while now.

You’re better than this conspiracy crap.

They populate the front page based on views, not votes. People (like you for instance, and possibly now several people reading this thread) are increasingly visiting r/conservative right now.

edit I guess it’s more correct to say that they populate the front page by various inputs, not just votes. It might be views, comments (like depedencyinjection there suggests), plus all kinds of other inputs to the algo like your own account behavior or your location and behavior of other accounts nearby and who knows.
