galaxia@lemmy.zipto politics @lemmy.world•Risk of ‘Trumpcession’ rising, economists say, as global markets fall1·1 month agoThanks for the perspective, I was honestly trying to think in terms of investing overseas, which I should’ve mentioned (Is that even possible?). I’ve been saving, studying, and working on my career to move to teach in Japan eventually and I don’t want what little I currently have to be worth nothing. Right now the dollar is strong against the yen but I don’t know if that’ll be true by the time I graduate (Which is slow, I’m not going to go into debt for this). Considering taking a class on finance even though math is my worst subject.

Sorry for not being clear!
galaxia@lemmy.zipto News@lemmy.world•A 40-day Target boycott starts today. It couldn’t come at a worse time for the company5·1 month agoBut then why is Canada’s whole absolute boycott of everything American gaining traction around the world? Could it be that… when we ALL participate, it actually starts to make them worry?
…nah, couldn’t be.
Honestly I used to think like you did, but this time I think if we apply this boycott as a broad stroke to capitalism in general and ONLY shop small or legitimately supportive companies, then it’ll STACK with the other actions people take. One thing doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and while it may seem small on its own, it adds up.
